The Photographer’s Family Portrait
March 7, 2010 A year of photos
Being a photographer like, any other profession doesn’t always mean you will shoot your own family very much, or like any family there is always one person missing. This weekend my family and I had the pleasure of working with one of the best up and coming photographers in the area and he is my right hand guy/2nd shooter. Steven Wharton of 1111 photography is creative, open minded and so willing to take risks to get that shot. His mind is amazing, this year for Christmas I had mention I wanted to do a family portrait were we all wore sweaters, I was wanting the “UGLY” Christmas sweaters that you get from certain and very loved grandparents. You know the ones big snowflakes or Santa’s or other things found around Christmas time. So when you ask for something it seems like some people like Santa are really listing because Christmas day there was a present for our family under the tree. Santa had gotten us all some pretty nice sweaters and left a note saying that he wanted to see our family portrait taken in these sweaters that he had made just for us because he didn’t want us in “UGLY” sweaters I talk about all the time. So Saturday we finally had the time as a family and the weather was perfect to get some amazing portraits done by Steve. SO to answer the question who takes a photographers photos, well someone you have trusted with your gear, weddings and someone that you recognize to be an amazing talent like yourself
I am coming into my 16th year as a professional photographer and I have to say things have changed since then and will continue to change with minds like Steve’s around. I think his work is amazing and the ideas he has are going to blow anyone out of the water…..and I am so glad he is on my side
I just want to say thank you Steve for the amazing photographs that my family and I will cherish for a long long time.
All the photos below are taken by Steve Wharton of 1111 Photography, and this is our crazy family!
