Joelsmithphotography.ca and e11even11.com have day that is dedicated to all our furry friends of the K9 world.  Steve and myself both have dogs that e love.  Just as we love our cats, we know you LOVE your dogs.  So,Dog Days of Summer was created to help out this great new building for the LCHS 4th ave location.

Not only are we doing this for you, but we are also doing this for the LCHS.  We want to give something back to them, so for each $50 session we will donate $30 to the LCHS and you then also get a photo credit of $20 dollars towards a printed portrait of your furry friend that day, we have teamed up with Digital Sorts Photography Barry Springle, who has donated his time and supplies to this great event. After your personal session with Steve or myself you will be able to view your photos on site and spend you $20 to get a great portrait of you puppy.

Diesel & Shelbee back Steve & I into a corner to get  the lowest prices for these unique sessions and then went to town on Barry’s ankles and have really took a bite out of the reprint prices.

We should tell you that this will not be your typical Studio dog portrait day  Nope, we are planning to create the best image of your dog showing his or her personality.  Sometimes we will get it in the first few frames, sometimes we may have to take 20, whatever it takes.    We will be focusing on your dog and not so much as the backgrounds, props and colors.  As you can see by our samples your attention is drawn directly to the dog, and you know what that dog is like just by looking at them

Sessions are approximately 20 minutes long, like we said earlier sometimes we can get those magic captures in the first 5 minutes, plus, your dogs might stress out, breathe heavy, tongues hanging out (which isn’t a bad thing) so we found 20 minutes is more than enough time.

Here are the prices that Diesel squeezed out of us for this Dog Days of Summer Photo Sessions

Here is a few things you should know about our dog days of Summer photos

• Images will be B&W (this focuses your attention on your dog, especially the eyes, facial features and personality.)

• Images will be captured on our high-key white background (for the same above reasons).

• Images will be of the dog (or dogs) alone. This is Dog Day, not Dog & Owner Day (So please don’t ask)

• A You will receive a tax receipt from the LCHS

• Please bring chew toys, squeaker toys or any other “vice” you use to bribe your K9 to smile. Want to dress up your dog? Go for it.

• If the parking lot is wet , please carry your dog inside.

• You know when your dog has to go and if he or she happens to go in the studio………..so be it. Dogs do that. Don’t cry.

• Please give us 48 hours notice of any cancellation so that we can rebook your spot

There are only 40 openings so you need to call and book your slots.

My name is Shellbee, my dad is a photographer that is out to help out around the community. We are in the process of picking a new spokes dog for this great fundraiser coming in August 2010 for the Lincoln Humane Society brand new addition to the clinic. Well yesterday morning Steve and I pilled into our HOCKEY MOM 2 machine and headed southwest for the Detroit tunnel. Finding out half way there Steve had never been to Detroit and I had driven through it twice and been to the Auto show, so this is the first time I actually get out of the car in Detroit.

Well let’s just say after being drilled at the border about who’s van it was ( I guess they didn’t think I made a hot Hockey Mom) they let us into this great city. One of the hardest hit cities in America from the ’08 money crisis, Detroit still has so much soul and life in it, the people are amazing and as we stood in line in Popeye’s fried chicken on 8 Mile road East you knew you were in Detroit.

Get Candid Detroit did not dissatisfy! Thanks to all of you for opening your hearts in this crazy time. A big thank you to Jim from Pictage for bring all this fantastic talent together and to  the WPPI for giving all attendees access to the biggest and best show in Feb in Vegas.

But the biggest thanks goes to Steve Wharton for being my partner in crime on this great of many road trips together. I know Steve was shooting the entire day I we were there be sure to check out his amazing photos from our wicked trip at equals22.
